The Bill (Reg.№2419) envisages the formation of State Register of Religious Organizations and implementation of their registration and annual re-registration of their statuses that exist in Ukraine more than 10 years, broaden the grounds for the liquidation of such organizations after the court ruling and implement a number of restrictions and inhibitions concerning their activity.
During the discussion, members of the Committee expressed number of remarks to the Bill.
In particular the People´s Deputies deem that the principles of the Bill contradict with the principles of the Constitution of Ukraine, ratified by Ukraine International documents and principles of the current Law "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations". The Bill contains principles that restrain that are aimed at the restriction of rights and liberties etc.
Analysis of Bill testifies that the current Law "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations" is more democratic than the amendments suggested to it.
